CLIQUE /[kleek, klik] noun, verb, cliqued, cli-quing
Noun 1. A small, exclusive group of people; coterie; set.
Verb 2. Informal. To form, or associate in, a clique.
This is simply just another case of turning nothing into something. Initially, the three of us long-time friends had the bright idea of entering the food service industry by serving traditional Filipino cuisine fused with Mexican favorites. That idea never took off, so we began wholesaling snapback hats. The first batch of 20 hats came and went quickly. So did the next batch of 50. And then so did the next batch of 100. Shortly after, we had an abundance of hats building up in the room and garage. It was at that time that we decided to go big or stay home.
We found a warehouse with a front office in Fremont. With all this new space we created The Barracks, equipped with a full dance studio with mirrors and photography studio setup. To liven up the place a bit, our boy GEO came through and hit up our walls. It also became the home and HQ of Hella Bastos and TurtleSpeedShop.com Little did we know, this warehouse would also become the gateway for our friends & fambam at Breezy Excursion, Booger Kids, Adapt, IC3, and Tony.PSD. Our front office turned into a showroom showcasing the illest streetwear. With many of these brands located in San Jose, we’ve helped them broaden their scope, influence, and popularity into the East Bay and vice versa. We now had something else on our hands; a one-stop-shop for you to pick up gear from the local brands. Thus, The Clique was born. Even better, the fam-a-lam grew larger and we grew tighter. Time to conquer a piece of the world…
